Terms & Conditions

By accessing or using Sentient ("the Application"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use Sentient. These Terms are established by Existence, the parent company of Sentient, based in Pune, India.

You agree not to misuse Sentient in any manner, including but not limited to:

• Violating any applicable laws or regulations
• Engaging in unauthorized access, interference, or disruption of Sentient’s functionality
• Using Sentient to distribute malicious software, spam, or harmful content
• Scraping, extracting, or using automated means to collect data beyond Sentient’s intended use
• Impersonating others or misrepresenting your identity

Failure to comply may result in suspension or termination of access to Sentient.

All content, trademarks, branding, and materials within Sentient are the property of Existence and are protected by intellectual property laws.

• You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on Sentient and its underlying codebase without explicit permission from Existence.

Our data collection practices are governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points include:

• The knowledge graph made with your personality test, LinkedIn, Reddit and X profiles is stored locally along with your chat history.
• Sentient does not transmit personal data externally except usernames, emails and login history. This is saved by Auth0.
• Internet access is required for authentication and the use of certain Sentient agents and the web search feature. All other features of Sentient can be used completely offline.

You consent to the collection and use of your personal data as described in these Terms and in our Privacy Policy. You may be asked to provide explicit consent for certain data collection, especially when integrating third-party services like LinkedIn, Reddit, and X. If you choose to use such features, you agree to the sharing of relevant information between these third-party platforms and Sentient.

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• Existence shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Sentient
• Sentient is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Existence does not guarantee that Sentient will be free from errors, interruptions, or defects. Users acknowledge that the operation of Sentient may be temporarily interrupted for maintenance or other technical reasons. Existence makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of the content or functionality of Sentient.
• You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Existence and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use or misuse of Sentient, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.
• Existence shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance under these Terms due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, government actions, natural disasters, war, civil unrest, or technical failures.

Sentient integrates third-party services, including:

• Auth0 for authentication
• Neo4J for local knowledge graph storage
• Meta's Llama3.2 3B for AI inference
• Google Services for email, document, and calendar management (with user permission)

While Existence strives to ensure that these services are secure and functional, Existence is not responsible for any failure, data breach, or malfunction resulting from the use of these third-party services. You agree that any interactions with these services are at your own risk.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in Pune, India.

We reserve the right to update these Terms. If we make significant changes to the Terms, we will notify you by requiring you to accept the updated Terms when you next log in or access Sentient. Continued use of Sentient after any such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
